Valleys & Vistas – A Family Trail through Sikkim

Arrive at Bagdogra Airport and begin your scenic drive to Gangtok. As you settle in, take an easy evening stroll along the vibrant MG Road—lined with cafés, shops, and the warm rhythm of local life.

Overnight in Gangtok

After breakfast, explore the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, a gateway to Tibetan heritage and rare manuscripts.

Then, visit the peaceful Ranka Monastery, where monks chant against a backdrop of prayer flags and forested hills.

Later, hop on a cable car ride for sweeping mountain views and end your day at Tashi View Point, where the sun dips behind the Kanchenjunga range in a wash of gold.

Overnight in Gangtok

Begin your drive toward Lachen, a small village tucked deep in the Eastern Himalayas. En route, pass cascading waterfalls and terraced hillsides.

Reach Lachen by evening and enjoy a peaceful walk through the sleepy village lanes.

Leave before dawn for Gurudongmar Lake, one of the world’s highest freshwater lakes. On the way, stop at Chopta Valley for steaming Maggi and surreal views. At Gurudongmar, icy winds, sacred legends, and shimmering blues create a surreal experience.

Later, take a detour to Kala Patthar, where the black sand cliffs stand in sharp contrast to snowcaps, before heading down to Lachung.

Overnight in Lachung

After breakfast, drive to Yumthang Valley, famed for its springtime bloom of red, pink, and purple flowers.

If open, continue to Zero Point, a dramatic high-altitude region where snow-draped landscapes stretch endlessly.

Drive back to Gangtok alongside the picturesque Lachung River. Stop at Mangan, and take a short detour to visit the Lingdem Hot Springs, known for their healing properties.

Reach Gangtok by evening and wind down at your hotel or with some souvenir shopping.

Start early for the ancient Silk Route trail. First, visit the serene Tsomgo Lake and continue to Nathula Pass, near the Indo-China border. Enjoy another panoramic cable car ride, then continue your journey through Nathang Valley to Zuluk, known for its spiral roads and untouched beauty.

After breakfast, begin your drive to Bagdogra Airport. As you descend, take in the last sights of ridges, rivers, and prayer flags fluttering goodbye.
